Our policy is designed to protect the confidentiality of this information, as well as illustrate how we use it, particularly when you provide personal information to The Family Center.

Obtaining information

The Family Center obtains personal information about you in the following ways:

  • From applications or forms (e.g., name, address, phone number)
  • From transactional activity (e.g., contributions and grant recommendations)
  • From other sources with your consent or with the consent of your authorized representative

We may use this information to process transactions, respond to inquiries from you or your representative, and develop, offer and deliver new programs and services. The Family Center takes great care to protect your personal information and determine when it is used, and we do so with respect for your privacy.

Protecting information

The strong protection of sensitive information is the basis of our donors' trust and a standard practice. We employ extensive physical, electronic and procedural protection mechanisms.

The Family Center does not sell, trade or rent donor names or information to any firm or nonprofit organization. It does not share it with any firm or nonprofit organization for their marketing or fundraising purposes unless you or your authorized representative explicitly asks us to do so. You do not have to contact us to benefit from these protections; they apply automatically.

We may share the personal information we collect with government agencies or other regulatory bodies and law enforcement officials (e.g. for tax reporting or for reporting suspicious transactions).

Online Privacy

Privacy, security and service online are just as critical as the rest of our operations. We make every effort to follow industry standard security measures to prevent the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Therefore, we employ firewall barriers, encryption techniques and authentication procedures. We may also place cookies and similar files on your hard drive for security purposes, to facilitate site navigation, and to personalize your experience on our site.

The Family Center maintains the highest level of privacy concerning our donors’ contact and fund information.
All contact information is used for internal purposes only and never published. Note that contact information is required by the IRS in regard to contributions, but is not for public inspection.
