Sometimes the best gift is your time and talents. Many Family Center agencies utilize volunteers to accomplish their goals. If you are interested in volunteering at the Family Center, please contact an agency directly.

Agencies currently seeking volunteers are:

Cancer Patient Services
Volunteers are needed to work with clients to determine their needs and what assistance is available. Please contact CPS at 419-423-0286.

Caughman Health Center
Caughman Health Center utilizes volunteers from the Blanchard Valley Hospital Auxiliary. They are looking for volunteers who are passionate about helping patients, hospital staff and the community. With over 30 programs currently performed by the Auxiliary, there are opportunities to fit all schedules and personalities. For more information, call (419) 423-5342.

CHOPIN Hall
Eight people are needed at CHOPIN Hall for each 2 hour shift on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. to assist those who need temporary help. In addition, crews are needed to sort clothing on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, and to stock the pantry and prepare items for distribution. Some volunteers help each week and some only once a month. A schedule can be arranged to fit any person's needs.

Habitat for Humanity
Volunteers work with the local Habitat for Humanity chapter to help build homes for low-income families. Volunteers assist Habitat personnel in all aspects of home construction. Additionally, Habitat’s ReStore is completely run with volunteer labor. To register to build or work at the ReStore visit www.habitatfindlay.org

Hancock Christian Clearing House
Three to four volunteers are needed each Monday through Friday mornings, and Monday and Wednesday afternoons, to work with clients to determine their needs and what assistance is available. Volunteers are also used for helping with Ohio Benefit Bank and Neighbor to Neighbor.  Training is offered for anyone interested in volunteering at Hancock Christian Clearing House.

Hope House
Hope House is looking for Weekend and Holiday Staff Replacement Volunteers. Job Description: Answers the door for visitors and residents, answers the phone, gives minimal assistance to residents, contacts “on call” staff for emergencies. Hours: 3-hour shifts are on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. There are 4 shifts per day as follows: 9-12 p.m., 12-3 p.m., 3-6 p.m., and 6-9 p.m. Volunteers sign up for what shift fits their schedules. You may volunteer as often as you like. A short training period is provided. You must be 18 years old. Background checks are done for Hope House volunteers.

Lupus Foundation
Volunteers are needed during office hours Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Office help (folding newsletters , answering phones, assisting with event mailings and follow-up phone calls, updating website monthly). Volunteers are also needed to attend Health Fairs, participate in our speakers bureau, assist with special fundraiser events, and serve as a support group facilitator or sub.
